Civico Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea – Castello di Masnago

The collection, which was installed in the fifteenth-century wing of the Castle in 1995, includes paintings, sculpture and graphic works from the 16th through the 20th century, for the most part by artists from Lombardy. In the section dedicated to contemporary art, which also features primarily local artists, the focus is on pairing the works with the frescoes, with the aim, as in other rooms, of enhancing the unique qualities of the exhibition space and transforming what might at first seem like a limitation into a resource that characterises the installation.
