Museo all’aperto di Fanano

This open-air museum was founded to answer the need for new spaces for the display of contemporary sculpture at the beginning of the 1970s. The 220 works found in the open-air museum of Fanano are installed in the urban environment in a way that modifies the latter while at the same time creating a very close relationship between the environment, art and the population. Since 1983, the annual Simposio Internazionale di Scultura su Pietra (International Stone Sculpture Symposium) has been held here, involving the participation of such artists as Yoshin Ogata, Tanya Preminger, Gabriele Perugini, Luciano Massari, Leonardo Cremonini and many others.
