The Tate Gallery is made up of four separate museums: Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives and Tate Modern. The Tate was founded thanks to an art donation by the collector of academic Victorian art, Sir Henry Tate, with the goal of establishing a modern art museum. Initially, the museum was focused on British art, especially by artists from the Victorian age, but its collection later expanded to include works by non-British artists and contemporary art.

Fa parte della collezione permanente della Tate Gallery la scultura "Earth" di Jean-Robert Ipousteguy. L'artista francese nel 1964 inizia la collaborazione con lo Studio Nicoli di Carrara, dove torna a lavorare periodicamente. Lavora anche presso i Laboratori A.M.A., Henraux, Giuseppe e Ulderigo Giannoni, e alla Fonderia Tesconi. Prende parte a "Il passato e la presenza", 1982-1983, Centro Culturale "L. Russo", Pietrasanta; "Scultura Internazionale", Castello Malaspina, Massa, 1986; "X Biennale internazionale", Carrara, 2000. |
