The Warsaw National Museum was founded in 1862 as a museum of fine arts and is one of the oldest museums in Poland. The museum's current, modern building was built between 1927 and 1938. Today, the collection ranges from the art of antiquity to works by contemporary Polish and foreign artists, including painting, sculpture, prints and photographs, coins and design.
