MuSA | Extraordinary festive holidays 2017 | Discovering the museum through its history and its technologies
MuSA awaits you for the upcoming holidays!
During the free visits you will be able to watch virtual tours in the marble quarries and along the streets of Pietrasanta thanks to the touch screens, visit the permanent collection located inside the room and view the emotional documentary, reproduced on the large MuSA screens.
The “Capitani Coraggiosi” Permanent Collection is part of the Widespread Museum Project wished by the Municipality of Pietrasanta to best exploit the gables of the Bozzetti Museum not visible to the public. These are 10 sketches of Bozzano, Zilocchi, Bibolotti, Calandra, Rubino, Jacopi, Luciano, Arrighini, Parma and Tommasi, real forunners of today’s artists and craftsmen. The selection is accompanied by a projection of images and records of the era that marks the relationship between the works and the era, the workshops, the workers, the schools and the companies in which they were built.
The virtual collection is then completed with the projection on seven screens, according to the composite direction of MuSA’s technology, of the emotional documentary “La Voce del Marmo”, a project based on iconographic research, literary records, sound and color sources, visual historical documents of the Istituto Luce and RAI Teche and using prestigious images borrowed from the Scala Archives in Florence, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and other prestigious Italian museums that illustrate in an integrated, articulated and evocative way the history of excavation and marble processing in the Apuoversilian basin from Michelangelo to this day.
