Duda/Paine Architects was founded in Durham, North Carolina, in 1997, merging the expertise of Turan Duda and Jeffrey Paine. Both from the state of North Carolina, the two architects met at Cesar Pelli & Associates, where they both worked for around twenty years. Duda/Paine Architects stands out for its work method, characterised by a deep understanding between the customer, the project team and the end user, resulting in the creation of projects with an original architectural identity.

This approach has won the studio international recognition and numerous prizes and awards. Duda/Paine Architects' major projects include the Frost Bank Office Tower, Austin, Texas, Palisades West Austin, Texas, Cox Enterprise Inc. Corporate Headquarters, Atlanta, Georgia, University of North Carolina – School of the Arts Welcome Center Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Park City Musashikosugi in Kanagawa, Japan.
