It is difficult, if not impossible, to find anywhere like Pietrasanta with such a high concentration of different specialist craftsmen.
Over the centuries – in addition to the skills ancillary to the production of works of art such as clay sculpture and modelling – other artistic skills, such as bronze casting, mosaic, inlay work, fine art printing, wrought iron work, ceramics and goldsmithing, have taken their place alongside traditional marble working. A self-sufficient system has thus developed, within which all those involved (in the public and private sectors) can circulate and find the collaborators they need in the fields of art, interior design and architecture.
The Associazione ArtigianArt Pietrasanta, which today has over 40 member companies, was established in order to promote, preserve and expand this valuable, unique network, with the primary objective of supporting the training of specialists, through the promotion and organisation of specialist training courses.
