This workshop, surrounded by a greenbelt and just a stone’s throw from Piazza Duomo in Pietrasanta, was founded in the 1950s by Anna Bacci and Cesare Poli and until 1980 produced figurative and animal statues particularly for foreign markets. In 1983, upon the death of his father, the son Ivo joined the company, leaving his profession as an architect in order to keep the craft workshop alive. In the course of the next 20 years he increased the production of ceramics, majolica and terracotta to include not only vases and pots but also tables, tiles, decorative panels and anything else which can be made out of terracotta, participating in the most important exhibitions at a national level, joining forces with numerous artists the likes of Igor Mitoraj, Romano Cosci, Novello Finotti, Maria Gamundi, e Mauro Corda for the production of works of art in terracotta.
Since 2000 he has been working full scale together with his wife Benedetta Pellizzi, whose vases inspired by the Della Robbia style reproduce the classical Tuscan shapes decorated and modelled by hand which enhance not only private homes and villas but also Piazza del Duomo in Pietrasanta, new housing schemes in the town, numerous gardens and historical villas housing custom-made objects, unique pieces of the finest craftsmanship.
