For over 60 years, precisely since 12 January 1958, Cooperativa Apuana Marmi has been dedicating its business activity to marble. Born thanks to the adventurous spirit of 21 young founding partners, in the course of time it has become one of the main Italian entrepreneurial initiatives in the marble industry, and the major one on national level.
Cooperativa Apuana operates in one of the most ancient quarries of Tuscany and is today equipped with modern and efficient infrastructures. Its production focuses on marble in blocks, directed mostly to foreign markets, in particular Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and countries of the Middle East. In 2015 the company decided to make an important investment by building a modern sawmill for the initial processing and production of semi-finished products directed both at distributors and final users. The plant, inaugurated at the beginning of 2018, represents one of the most state-of-the-art marble processing plants present in the Apuan-Versilia area and allows producing net-reinforced, resin-treated and polished slabs also for third parties.
Cooperativa Apuana Marmi also carries out an important social role in the territory, interacting with schools, sports associations, tourist development initiatives and with all the other institutions in the area it is involved in.
