Marcello Giorgi was born in Pietrasanta in 1962. He obtains his diploma from the Istituto d’Arte and for ten years worked at the Fonderia Artistica Mariani where he learnt all the lost wax techniques and how to work bronze and metals. In1988, world-renowned Polish artist Igor Mitoraj calls him to his studio as assistant and here he completes his knowledge of figurative art.

In 1991 he opened his own clay sculpture workshop. Here, thanks to the collaboration with contemporary artists, he is able to roam the world of figurative art in every form, from abstract to classical to conceptual and he carries out his work as a sculptor full time.

His strongest passion however lies with classical art. While he successfully carries out portraitry on commission, he also works on prestigious restoration projects where it is necessary to substitute original figurative or architectural elements that require restoring or that are to be placed in museums with exact copies.
